Useful Steel Backer for Jumbo Pellet Trap

Archer Airguns customer Karl Stewart has kindly contributed this excellent suggestion about how to install a cheap and easy backer inside an Archer Airguns Jumbo Pellet Trap.

Karl writes...

"Last week, I purchased one of your Jumbo pellet traps.  I wanted to add a metal plate to the back of the trap before I added the Duct Seal.  On various airgun forums, I have seen that other people used electrical junction box covers to make homemade traps.  I went to Home Depot and found that these covers are fairly thick steel, and are only 60 cents each.  You need 9 of them ($5.40 total) to cover the back of the trap.  You also need a handful of 1/2 inch screws.

The BEST thing is that there is no drilling or cutting required.  Simply lay out the metal covers, and the screw slot line up!  All you do then is use a drill or power screwdriver to attach the plates with 1/2 in screws.  It takes less than 5 minutes.

Here is a link to the Home Depot item.

I hope this helps your customers."

Karl, thank you for your information and the great photographs!

My jumbo box is 10.5 X 12.5 inches inside. The 4 X 4 electrical plates will not fit as the picture indicates. The author's box must be a 12 X 12.

The center plates are overlapping the end plates in order to accommodate the smaller dimensions and they utilize the screw holes from the end plates.
